Preparations for the 125th anniversary of the Jesuit mission in Timor-Leste are well underway, led by the dedicated efforts of our MAG+S Timor-Leste youth community. This significant milestone marks a moment of reflection and celebration for all of us, culminating in years of service and spiritual dedication.
Now entrusted with organizing this historic event, we have formed a team to navigate a complex landscape of logistics and planning. Anticipation and responsibility define the current phase of preparations. Despite the inherent challenges, our team draws strength from our unwavering faith and collaborative spirit. Progress has been notable, with meticulous attention to team dynamics, task distribution, and the cultivation of innovative ideas. However, challenges persist in assigning roles across different sectors, compounded by the commitments of our team members to their academic and professional pursuits.
I am Blessed that the MAG+Sers have entrusted me as the leader of the preparation team. I openly acknowledge my personal challenges, including moments of self-doubt and the nuances of leadership experience. Yet, I find reassurance in the collective wisdom and mutual support fostered within the team. Grounded in prayer and guided by God’s providence, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of unity and purpose for the greater glory of God.
The journey towards this milestone is not without its lessons. I value the transformative power of collaboration, learning from diverse perspectives and experiences shared by my BEST (Spiritual friends). They are a precious gift from God, providing unwavering support, motivation, and encouragement. They continuously exchange ideas with me, ensuring everything proceeds smoothly. Their enthusiasm for this preparation is truly a blessing, as they show the best meaning of seeking God in all things.”
Looking ahead, the MAG+S community requests everyone’s prayers for the successful culmination of these preparations and the meaningful impact of this commemorative event, which will be held on July 30-31 this year. Together, we invite the community to join in honoring the enduring legacy of the Jesuit mission in Timor-Leste.
