Casa de Produção Audiovisual (CPA) is a religious media institution under Jesuits in Timor-Leste region that establish to create storytelling and video production that focus on marginalized people, stories of changes, cultural values, animation videos, videos of apostolic works and sacramental works.
Nelson’s inspiring journey of choosing to work with CPA is igniting a fire within the hearts of other young individuals, compelling them to channel their capabilities towards serving their country and its people. “I hope that CPA can continue to develop its mission to become a bridge for society, especially marginalized communities.” Nelson Madeira Pacheco hopes for the organizations.
As he continued, “What moved me to be able to work in CPA were the human values and the environment implemented by this organization. In this media institution, I was not only taught to work, but I can learn and deepen also the religious and human values applied in this organization.” Nelson explained his decision joined CPA.
As a producer, Nelson shoulders a myriad of responsibilities in steering the CPA program towards its goal. He spearheads the conceptualization of documentary videos, crafts compelling scripts for video productions, conducts insightful interviews in the field, directly engages with communities, and fosters fruitful collaborations with both international and local NGOs, as well as government entities.
“I believe my faith plays an important role in the pursuit of my goals. For instance, when I do videos production concepts, I usually elaborate on my faith in any of my work. I believe that, it can provide me with a sense of purpose, guidance, and a framework for making decisions in an organization.” Nelson explained.
Nelson firmly believes in shouldering the responsibility of leadership within the production team. Embracing the diversity of opinions within his team is paramount to achieving CPA’s goals. To navigate challenges effectively, he prioritizes collaboration, communication, and unwavering commitment. Furthermore, he underscores the power of mutual acceptance, recognizing that it fosters smoother workflows and yields stronger outcomes.
“At CPA, we celebrate diversity as a cornerstone of our organization. We recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where individuals of all faiths and backgrounds feel valued and respected. By embracing religious diversity, we enrich our workplace and strengthen our collective impact.” -Nelson explained.
We strongly advocate for the significant role of religious organizations in driving social change. By nurturing faith and advocating for peace within society, these organizations empower individuals to enact positive transformations aligned with their beliefs. Through initiatives like “Faith of the People,” we spotlight stories of love and unity, effectively bridging communities and fostering deeper understanding among diverse groups.
